    Three Pillars of Health.  Living a healthy balanced life has been a part of my world since I was in my mother’s womb. My friends refer to her as the “Workout Queen” my mother taught me the example of living a healthy, happy, balanced life from a very young age. She revealed to me that there are three pillars to living a Dynamic Healthy Lifestyle, and as long as you keep them in mind you will find what works best for you.

    There are many opinions on what it takes to live a healthy lifestyle. Some people like to make it incredibly complicated. But it doesn’t have to be. In a world of deadlines, stresses, and other demands, the last thing you want to worry about are the details of some long list of healthy living tips. When it comes down to it, there are three pillars to living a healthy lifestyle. As long as you keep them in mind and find what works best for you, healthy living will come naturally and easier to maintain.

     

    Pillar 1: Diet

    When I say diet, I mean the overall state of your eating habits that you can sustain for maintaining a healthy weight. This has nothing to do with deciding which fad to try next. Knowing what foods are good to eat is vital to living a healthy lifestyle.  The great thing is that you don’t want to deprive yourself of everything you love.  There are a few other things most health professionals recommend:

    1.  Eat several small meals and snacks throughout the day; don’t eat two or three huge meals
    2.  Try not to eat on the run, and don’t eat convenience foods – these types of foods usually have very little nutritional value
    3.  Find the right combination of whole grain carbohydrates, fresh fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins that works best for you

     

    Pillar 2: Exercise

    You can’t just expect to stay fit by solely changing your eating habits. You also have to exercise. For some the gym is a great starting point. You can go on your own, start with a group of friends, or hire a trainer. You can even skip the machines altogether and attend the many classes most gyms offer. If the gym is an intimidating place for you start simple. Take the stairs instead of elevators, park at the very back of a mall parking lot instead of at the front, or take a short walk on your lunch break. Doing something active every day, even if it is just ten minutes of activity, will get you into the habit and will keep you moving.

     

    Pillar 3: Mental Health

    This is the one most of us tend to neglect, and it is very important to the other two pillars. Your attitude and mindset have more to do with your health than you realize. Being overly stressed, feeling depressed, or having anxiety on a regular basis have an effect on your overall health. It may be as simple as a quiet bath and the end of the day, or starting a yoga class to relive stress. But if it gets to a point where you need some help, don’t be afraid to talk to your doctor.

    Dynamic Living Doable

    Don’t let another year go by without starting your workout plan, eating right and creating a relaxing refreshing living environment.  Just waking up and committing to taking a daily morning walk can start you on the right path toward leading a healthy lifestyle.
